What's at the center

Explore what each featured ingredient is intended to contribute. Open any ingredient for the useful detail—not just the name.

GHK-Cu A copper-binding tripeptide selected for smoother-, firmer-looking skin. View details

What it is: GHK-Cu is the three-amino-acid peptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine bound to copper, which gives the ingredient its characteristic blue color.

Why it is included: Topical copper-peptide research has explored changes in the appearance of firmness, fine lines, and photoaged skin. Published human studies are relatively small, and peptide delivery depends heavily on the finished formula.

What that means here: Copper Signal is being developed as a cosmetic serum for the appearance and feel of skin. It is not presented as a wound treatment, and results from ingredient research cannot be assumed for this unfinished formula.

Niacinamide Vitamin B3 used to support the skin barrier and a more even-looking complexion. View details

What it is: Niacinamide is a topical form of vitamin B3 and a well-established multifunctional cosmetic ingredient.

Why it is included: Niacinamide-containing formulas have been studied for supporting barrier function and improving the visible look of uneven tone, texture, fine lines, and blotchiness.

What that means here: Its contribution will depend on the final concentration and complete formula. Even familiar ingredients can irritate some skin, so the finished label directions will matter.

Panthenol Provitamin B5 used for moisture, conditioning, and skin comfort. View details

What it is: Panthenol—also called provitamin B5—is a humectant and skin-conditioning ingredient.

Why it is included: Panthenol-containing topical formulas have shown improvements in hydration and measurements associated with skin-barrier recovery.

What that means here: It is intended to help the serum feel comfortable and leave skin feeling softer and less dry. It does not make the product a treatment for damaged or diseased skin.

Hyaluronic acid A water-binding humectant used here in sodium hyaluronate form. View details

What it is: Sodium hyaluronate is the salt form of hyaluronic acid. It attracts and holds water at the skin's surface.

Why it is included: Topical hyaluronic-acid formulas are commonly used to increase surface hydration and temporarily improve the look of dryness and fine dehydration lines.

What that means here: Skin may look and feel more hydrated and supple. Performance varies with molecular size, concentration, the rest of the formula, and the environment; this is not an injectable filler.
